Who are you, what do you do, and what makes your work magical?
Im Shailer and I'm a licensed esthetician and herbalist with my own CBD skincare line: Magick Shay!! My most loved product, Glow Serum, is internet famous for transforming skin with acne and imperfections into luminous, healthy, vibrant, glowing skin. To me there's nothing more magical than being able to change your appearance. I see plants as a conduit for beauty and glamour and I believe magic flows through them in a very real way.
Who are your soulmate clients and who do you love to work with?
I have a soft spot for the clients who have tried *everything*- the people who’ve been through it, who’ve spent thousands on skincare products or procedures, and can’t be fooled by shiny packaging. It's so fun to share in their excitement when they see changes in their skin. The beauty industry as a whole looks down on handmade products, but in my opinion just because something is made in a lab doesn’t mean it’s better. My soulmate clients have to be comfortable breaking the norm & trying something outside the usual skincare rotation.
How did your social media presence feel before working with me?
Before working with Captolia I had no social media presence. Literally 0. I had a personal instagram that was on private & I had deleted all other forms of social media after a very messy break up. I was very literally hiding from the world. I didn’t share my gifts on social media and I just used it as a place to scroll.
How does it feel now?
Most days I can’t believe I have so many people in my corner cheering me on. Every day I get messages from folks who love my products. My community shares photos, videos, reels, stories, and testimonials unprompted- just because they’re happy and they love how their skin looks! I grew a new instagram account from 0 followers to 2k+ in under two years while going back to school. I never imagined I would get over 300 ‘likes’ on my posts, but I consistently see this level of engagement & lots of comments and conversation too! I’m no longer hiding- I’m shining. ✨
How has your community transformed?
The results my customers were seeing in their skin shocked everybody- even me. I knew I had stumbled onto something really special and the more I saw results, the more I knew I had found my calling. Watching years of chronic acne fade away and be replaced with confidence is incredibly moving, every single time. This is what inspired me to become a licensed esthetician, and since then my world and my community have completely transformed. I found my people! I found customers and clients who need exactly what I have to offer and who I can be of real service to with my gifts. And I found the best colleagues in the world. Estheticians are some of the most passionate, dedicated, and hard working people I know and it’s an honor to be a part of this community. I no longer feel like an outcast.
In what way has your brand and business grown? (numbers, followers, energy)
I started at 0. Zero followers, zero sales, zero products. I watched Launch Potion and decided to give it a try. I launched a product - 24 bottles, and sold them all. Then I sold another 24, and another. I had an eerie sense of momentum from the start, like I had opened a portal that was already waiting for me. CBD brands face a really unique set of challenges when it comes to selling their products online but despite all these my business grew from 0 to 2,000+ followers totally organically in less than two years. I have shipped over 1,000 online orders all across the United States and sold hundreds of bottles of my signature product. My products are in two stores locally and I’m gearing up to expand my wholesale clients in the next year. I am opening my own full service esthetics suite where I can offer facials, skin treatments, and virtual consultations alongside my products. All of this and I truly feel like I’m just getting started.
In what ways has your bank account grown?
My first year of business I grossed about $23k and invested all of that back into my business. I ended up profiting under $2k for the year. This year, my gross sales doubled. I still consider my business to be in the early stages and I’m investing back into my business as much as possible. But I’ve also learned what works for me and where to put my money. This year I’ve managed to profit about 4x as much as my first year of business!
What wisdom, guidance, or knowledge helped you the most?
When I first joined Captolia’s world I didn’t even know how to get on a zoom call - and I’m not exaggerating!! I was truly a business baby and she always had real, insightful, easy answers for all of my questions whether it was biz basics or deeper questions of identity and how to express my authenticity in a meaningful way. And while Captolia has this encyclopedic knowledge of tangible marketing strategy that she teaches in a way that’s really fun & easy to understand, I still think her simplest piece of wisdom is the most powerful: the magic is YOU.

How have the archetypes impacted and influenced your work/brand/content/life?
Once I saw myself through the lens of the archetypes I no longer felt pressure to be anything other than myself. Parts of myself that were sometimes challenging to integrate - having a wandering heart, working intuitively rather than logically, being perceived as too bossy, unyielding, or ambitious, etc.- could be expressed naturally in my own business. The archetypes illuminate a sense of divine purpose which is very powerful for building a brand that reflects your inner world and for creating a life that is lived in authenticity. I’m very un- self conscious now. I’m less concerned with being liked and more focused on living in my truth. My relationships are stronger, I make goals and hit them, and I allow myself to run my biz + create content in a way that flows easily and confidently. My life just feels more fulfilling, in every way.
What are the most notable transformations that you are most proud of and excited about?
I have fully stepped into and claimed my bigness. That’s not as easy as it sounds. I found my peers were much more comfortable with me when I was playing small. But this is my own life and I get to be the star of it. So even if I’m not liked by some, I know I can inspire many more. I have a divine purpose to fulfill and a legacy to create.
